This week, the State University of Northern Negros (SUNN) successfully carried out two initiatives, highlighting commitment to education, community engagement, and environmental sustainability.

The Career Campaign and Campus Tour Activity, held on March 20-21, 2025, aimed to enhance students’ career readiness and increase awareness of SUNN’s academic programs and admission requirements. Organized by the Career Development and Placement Office, Guidance Office, and Student Affairs Services in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd), senior high school students from Sagay National High School, Sagay City Senior High School, Sagay City Eco Zone Farm School, Bulanon Farm School, Eusebio Lopez Memorial Integrated School, Bato National High School, and Vito National High School participated in the event, engaging with SUNN’s academic programs and student organizations.

Alongside this, SUNN strengthened its environmental initiatives through the University-Community Collaboration for Managing Blue Swimming Crab Habitats and ETP (Endangered, Threatened, and Protected) Species Interaction in the Visayan Sea, Philippines. This project emphasized habitat conservation, sustainable fisheries management, and the protection of marine biodiversity while supporting the livelihoods of local fishers. By working closely with the community, SUNN continues to foster responsible stewardship of marine resources and ensure long-term ecological balance in the region.
Through these initiatives, SUNN demonstrates its dedication to shaping future-ready students while actively engaging in environmental conservation. The university remains steadfast in its mission to empower individuals and drive meaningful change.
