State University of Northern Negros: A New Chapter Begins In the realm of higher education, the transition from a state college to a state university marks a significant milestone. It reflects growth, evolution, and a commitment to academic excellence. The Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology (NONESCOST) began as a modest institution, offering primarily undergraduate programs with a focus on teaching and community engagement. Its resources, faculty expertise, and student body may have been limited compared to other universities. However, as the demand for higher education grows and the institution's reputation flourishes, aspirations for expansion emerge. Over time, NONESCOST has expanded its academic offerings, invested in research and innovation, enhanced faculty expertise, and expanded campus infrastructure. With all these, NONESCOST has finally transformed into the State University of Northern Negros. The State University of Northern Negros (SUNN) held its Inauguration Ceremony alongside the Investiture of its very first university president, Dr. Renante Egcas last April 26, 2024, at SUNN Hotel, Sagay City. This marks a new chapter of education and opportunities, a milestone in its journey towards glocal recognition. President Renante A. Ecgas took the reins, symbolizing the university's commitment to excellence and service. The transition from NONESCOST to SUNN represents more than just a change in name or status—it embodies a journey of growth, transformation, and aspiration. SUNN emerges as a beacon of knowledge, innovation, and community engagement. As it continues to evolve and adapt to the evolving landscape of higher education, its impact will be felt far beyond the confines of its campus, shaping the future of individuals, communities, and society as a whole. With heartfelt gratitude to all who did their part for this accomplishment, this signifies not only the beginning but attests to the dedication of all involved. DISCLAIMER, We do not own the music.
