The State University of Northern Negros marked the start of preparations for the first semester of School Year 2025–2026 with its Faculty First Day of Service and Employees’ General Assembly on August 8, 2025, at the SUNN Hotel, AGM Hall. The activity began with a warm welcome message from the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Judith S. Rabacal, followed by the President’s Time with University President Dr. Renante A. Egcas, who greeted all employees and shared the university’s latest achievements—ranging from the CHED Regional Quality Awards to international recognitions in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, UI GreenMetric, and the AD Scientific Index. He congratulated all researchers and acknowledged the people behind these milestones, emphasizing the values of excellence and integrity in service, responsible resource use, collaboration, and the collective mission of empowering faculty and staff to nurture future leaders. In his message, Dr. Egcas reminded everyone that, “As SUNN employees, we are not only recipients of public trust—we are also contributors”, urging all to ensure that every effort and resource leads to productive students, empowered graduates, and uplifted families and society.
The program continued with the introduction of university officials by University Board Secretary Mary Ann B. Quingking, followed by institutional updates and academic year directions from the vice presidents—Dr. Judith S. Rabacal (Vice President for Academic Affairs), Dr. Adybier M. Lobaton (Vice President for Administration), and Dr. Samson Lausa (Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation)—as well as Ma. Christina Delos Reyes (Chief Administrative Officer–Admin), Dr. Richel P. Alob and Engr. Milka Silva (Campus Directors), Christina Abong (HRMO), and Engr. Bonnie Glenn Moraca (Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Director). The updates tackled academic priorities, administrative streamlining, research and extension initiatives, human resource development, and campus-level strategic goals, culminating in an Open Forum where employees engaged in clarifications and suggestions.
Through this gathering, the State University of Northern Negros reaffirmed its commitment to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening academic delivery and research excellence and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by fostering transparency and integrity in governance. The assembly concluded with closing remarks from Vice President for Administration Dr. Adybier M. Lobaton, inspiring all employees to embrace the semester ahead.
