The Tulong Dunong Program for State Universities and Colleges (TDP-SUC) benefits for the 2nd Semester, Academic Year 2023-2024 of the State University of Northern Negros (SUNN) were released on June 27, 2024, at the SUNN Covered Court, Old Sagay campus. This TDP-SUC provides financial assistance to qualified and deserving students in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) to support their higher education expenses. The program offers a one-time grant of Seven Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (PhP 7,500.00). SUNN prioritized student applicants from vulnerable groups, such as Persons with Disability (PWD), Indigenous People, Solo Parents, and Dependents of Solo Parents, to ensure they have access to this government financial grant. There were 132 grantees, including 13 PWDs, 2 Indigenous People, 6 Solo Parents, and 111 Dependents of Solo Parents.
Before the release, Mr. Roberto M. Cañete, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Animal Science graduate (Batch 2022) and a former Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) grantee, delivered an inspirational message to the grantees. He is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Animal Science at the University of Philippines, Los Baños (UPLB). This was followed by an orientation on MC No. 02 series of 2023, given by Dr. Ritchie F. Balandra, SAS Director. The short program was hosted by Hon. Reynold O. Braza, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate (Batch 2022).
